Groups at Westtown Church
A core value at Westtown Church is that all people have a place to belong. God desires us to belong to a community of fellowship and care, where we can be devoted to one another (Acts 2:42), and carry one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Our hope is that this fellowship, with Christ as the central bond, will encourage believers to take steps toward Christlikeness (discipleship).
At Westtown Church, we believe this fellowship and discipleship is best pursued in two types of small groups–Life Groups and Discipleship Groups.
Life Groups
We pursue fellowship and discipleship through Life Groups. Made up of men and women from all walks of life, these groups meet in homes throughout the week for community, accountability, encouragement, prayer, and group discussion of God’s Word. No group is perfect, and no two groups are exactly the same. The one thing they all have in common is a desire to take steps toward Christlikeness together.
Discipleship Groups
These groups are gender specific groups, designed to help men and women pursue Christ by growing in their understanding of God’s Word and of sound doctrine. Our hope is for believers at Westtown to be fully devoted to Christ, observing all that he has commanded us.
“Life Groups have allowed me to share my story without shame or guilt and extend love to others–just like the body of Christ is supposed to. I wish every person could have the same experience of sharing like I have.”
“Life Groups have helped make a big church much smaller. We do life together through the good and difficult times. It has helped us to focus on Jesus and has challenged us to be better spouses, parents and Christ followers.”
