What do you see in the cross? Paul told the Galatians that by preaching the Gospel, Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified before their eyes (Galatians 6:1). If the cross then, is a portrait, what do we see in the cross? The cross portrays for us who God is, who we are, the way life should be, and the power to transform all of life through Christ. No other portrait conveys such meaning, inspires such hope, and is worthy of all our devotion. Together, we will gaze on the portrait of the cross that we may see God’s majesty, our lives, and the world’s hope in Christ’s cross.
